ITV has shared a trailer revealing a sneak preview of Vertu Motors PLC chief executive Robert Forrester’s starring role in its Undercover Big Boss fly-on-the-wall reality TV series.
Shots showing elements of the disguise which made it possible for the high-profile industry figure to move among Bristol Street Motors staff can be seen in footage from the show.
“I’ve been in the business for 20 years and I have never done a customer-facing role,” Forrester tells ITV’s cameras in the trailer for the show which saw him go undercover to find out more about life on the showroom floor.
One dealership employee is seen stating “He’s not a born salesman”.

The Emmy award-winning series from Studio Lambert will also see chief execs and company bosses from Pickfords, Wyldecrest Parks, and Euro Foods Group swap their suits for overalls and go in disguise to work on their very own shop floors, to see what really goes on behind closed doors.
The series is often a catalyst for positive change in businesses as bosses gain insight on what it is like to work in different roles.
Earlier this month Forrester took to Twitter to share one recent improvement made to employees’ terms at Vertu Motors.
He said the business’ maternity pay would be ramped-up to 90% of average earnings for six months – the same as Marks and Spencers.
Forrester said that the move was “part of our strategy for a better balance of men and women in the workforce”.
Episode one of the new series of Undercover Big Boss will screen on August 5 and features self-made millionaire Alfie Best, founder and CEO of the largest residential park home operator in Europe, Wyldecrest Parks.
Forrester is set to feature later in the four-part series.
