Bare Knucklehead

Good morning friends, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? I hope that you’ve been keeping well since we last gathered together, and I appreciate you coming back for our weekly get-together. It means a lot to the site on a generally “dead” day, but it means even more to me. I wouldn’t have written this article, never fail, for over 150 weeks (yes, really), if it wasn’t for the joy I get seeing y’all show up to spread the love among our dear community. Oh, by the way, infinite scrolling has returned to the front page. I know a lot of people were asking for this. Thanks for bearing with Destructoid as the tech team continues in its efforts to fine-tune things under the hood.

This week has seen me having fun with two very different titles. The first is DotEmu’s fantastic Streets of Rage 4, which has just welcomed its brand new Mr. X Nightmare DLC to the party — bringing with it some ace new characters, new moves, new ‘choons, and even a giant swordfish. You can read all about that right here. I’ve also spent some time flying the adorable skies of ININ Games’ shmup remake Cotton Reboot! which takes of on PS4 and Nintendo Switch next week. It’s cheerful, harmless fun. If you wanna hear more about then stay tuned for my full review at the start of the coming week.

But as for the weekend, that begins right now, and I hope that you all have a wicked one. Before you get stuck into some solid gaming, reading, running, resting, or eating — whatever floats your boat — be sure to jump into the comments below and share with us your latest stories from the gaming world. Whatcha been playing? enjoying? or hating on? Whether you’re knee-deep in new titles or using the quiet summer spell to chip away at your backlog, share your good times with us!

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
